Botox (Botulinum Toxin Type A)

Botox (Botulinum Toxin) is a protein naturally produced by the bacterium Clostridum botulinum.

Botox is primarily used to treat the appearance of wrinkles which occur as a result of facial movement. It is injected directly into the muscle blocking the nerve signal so the nerve ending cannot tell the muscle to move. This will lead to less wrinkling of the skin in that area.
Repeat injections are generally carried out every 6 months which the best results stemming from the upper face i.e. crow’s feet, around the eyes, forehead and between eyebrows.

Injections generally cost from £200 - £300 per area treated but will vary from clinic to clinic.
